Best Time for The Nepal View Tour

The spring and autumn seasons are the best times to visit Nepal. In these months, the sky is typically clear with warm weather. In the spring months from mid-March to mid-May, you will find lush vegetation in the hills that surround the cities and their outskirts. Warmer temperatures, longer days, and blooming flowers mark the season. With spring, festivities throughout the country start which further enhances your experiences in Nepal.

Autumn, from mid-September to November, is also the harvest season throughout Nepal. Festivals such as Dashain and Tihar are celebrated across the country. In the capital, Kathmandu, other notable festivals like Indra Jatra create a jovial ambiance with every household in a celebratory mood. The weather is cool with less rainfall. Winter from the end of November to the beginning of March is cold. Temperatures fall below freezing in the Himalayas, while the capital Kathmandu can experience temperatures as low as 1 °C. Fog can disrupt travel plans in the Terai region.

Monsoon from June to August is the least recommended season to travel in Nepal. There are high chances of rainfall across the country with additional risks such as flood and landslide. If you are traveling in hilly areas, prepare to face obstructions as a result of a landslide. In the Himalayas, the trekking routes are slippery making trekking in Nepal difficult during the monsoon.

Nepal View Tour – 10 Days Itinerary
Day-to-DayExpand all

Upon arriving in Kathmandu, our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the tourist hub of Thamel. Take some time to relax and unwind after a long flight.

In the evening, you can explore nearby destinations on your own. However, we would recommend booking a bicycle rickshaw to explore Thamel and its surroundings.

Take this opportunity to visit some of the most lively bars and cafes. Meet your friends or interact with the locals. Thamel is also known for its rich collection of restaurants. You will find several international cuisines to savor.

The second day of the Nepal Visit Tour takes you to various destinations in Kathmandu. Predominated by religious sites with architectural heritage, this day begins with a hearty breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, you will get on a shuttle bus or a private vehicle to start the day’s tour. The Kathmandu Durbar Square is your first destination. Here, you will find temples, ancient architectural structures dating back to the Malla and Shah dynasties, and a jovial crowd scattered around the brick and stone-paved square.

Visit the Basantapur Durbar Museum to get further insights into the Shah dynasty of Nepal. Here, you will find royal attires, carriages used by queens and princesses, and weapons and firearms from different periods. You can also take a tour of the ancient palace used by different kings. The Kumari Ghar, the adobe of the Living Goddess is another major attraction. You can enter the Kumari Ghar and seek blessings from the Living Goddess.

From Kathmandu Durbar Square, we head to the nearby Swayambhu Stupa. Popular among tourists as the Monkey Temple, this site is famous for the limestone-washed stupa believed to have self-erected. Surrounding the stupa, you will find several Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples.

Next, we visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most revered Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Spanning 216 hectares, the temple complex houses several other shrines and temples. While entry to the main temple is restricted to Hindus and Buddhists, visitors of other faiths can explore the surrounding area. The site also features open cremation grounds along the Bagmati River, where visitors may observe and photograph the traditional cremation process. However, it is essential to maintain respect and sensitivity toward the families of the deceased during this experience.

Our final stop of the day is the iconic Boudha Stupa, a majestic limestone-washed structure similar in design to the Swayambhu Stupa. From an aerial perspective, the stupa resembles a mandala, symbolizing cosmic harmony. The Boudha vicinity becomes especially vibrant in the evening, as worshippers perform kora (circumambulation) around the stupa, filling the air with spiritual energy. Visitors can relax at nearby cafes offering stunning views of the stupa and the bustling courtyard, where locals and younger crowd gather to socialize, creating a lively atmosphere.

Today, wake up early as we leave for the Tribhuvan International Airport for a mountain flight at 5:30 in the morning. The mountain flight is a 50-minute to 1-hour-long activity that gives you an up-close view of several mountains of the Himalayan range. We board the flight at 6:00 am taking in the aerial view of the Kathmandu Valley. As we soar to our destined height, you’ll get an up-close view of the mountains of the Everest range, Annapurna range, Gauri-Shankar range, Langtang Himal range, Ganesh Himal range, Manaslu, and more. After completing the mountain flight, we head to Bhaktapur. We can have lunch in the traditional city of Bhaktapur. After lunch, it’s time to explore this ancient town. Here, you can find intricate architecture, stone and wood carvings, and temples. In Bhaktapur, you need to try the famous King Curd and see the traditional pottery-making process. If you are interested, you can try your hand at pottery.

From Bhaktapur, we ascent to Nagarkot. Since Nagarkot is located at a higher altitude, it can be a tad chilly there.

Located on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley, Nagarkot is a serene hilltop destination that offers splendid views of various mountain ranges. Also famous as a sunrise hotspot, this quaint town attracts national and international tourists year-round.

Our day in Nagarkot begins before dawn with a short hike to the view tower atop the hill. We wait patiently for the first rays of the sun to emerge from the Himalayas painting the sky in different hues of orange and red. When the weather is clear, you can see a series of mountains including Annapurna, Machhapuchhare (6993m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Himchuli (7893m), Manaslu (8163m) Langtang (7246m), Ganesh Himal Range, Gaurisankar Himal (6874m), and the mighty Mt Everest 8848.86m.

After spending some time taking in the beautiful mountain views, we head down to our hotel for breakfast. Now, it’s time to leave Kathmandu for further adventures. From Nagarkot, we head toward Pokhara with a detour at the Trishuli River. Here, you can partake in an hour-long white-river rafting adventure, or simply cherish the sights of the rapid tides of the Trishuli River from the river banks.

Our final destination for the day is Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful lake city with a vibrant nightlife. Today, you can self-explore the Lakeside area.

The begins with a drive to Sarangkot before dawn. This hilltop is a famous sunrise-view destination. The destination is famous for the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu and an expansive view of Pokhara.

After the early morning excursion, we have the entire day to explore Pokhara. Today, we will visit the Mountain Museum to get insights into the lifestyle of the people of the Himalayas, and mountaineering gear, and learn about notable climbers. A visit to Davis Falls is also on our itinerary today. Davis Falls is a beautifully maintained park with a thudding waterfall as its central attraction. This waterfall is named after a Swiss woman who went missing here.

Next to Davis Falls is the Gupteswor Cave. The cave is an intricate underground system that also serves as a Shiva temple. You will walk down a flight of stairs displaying images of the Hindu deity, and enter through a narrow opening. You can take some time to explore the depths of the cave.

Our final destination of the day is the Mahendra Cave. This is another popular limestone-roofed cave in Pokhara frequented by many visitors.

After several days of continuous exploration, we take a day to rest in Pokhara. Research some of the best destinations and self-explore this beautiful city of lakes. There are several activities and places you can visit. For instance, you can go boating in the Fewa Lake, hire a cab to Begnas and Rupa Lakes, visit the Bindabasani Temple, or simply relax by a cozy Lakeside cafe.

From Pokhara, we travel to the Terai plains. Chitwan is a popular destination for jungle activities such as safari, canoeing, and bird watching. Located five hours away from Pokhara, our itinerary in Chitwan includes the Tharu Village tour. As you paddle along, immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature while spotting a variety of bird species. Look out for colorful kingfishers, egrets, herons, storks, and the endangered Bengal florican.

After the river activities, we’ll head back to Kathmandu to end.
