On our Everest Base Camp trek, you'll have the chance to dip yourself in the extraordinary experiences Sagarmatha National Park offers. Spend the night in the delightful mountain village of Namche Bazaar and walk to the spectacular viewpoint of Kala Patthar, located at 5,545 meters. Kala Patthar provides an unexpected close-up view of some of the world's highest peaks, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse, similar to the panoramas from Everest Base Camp.
During the journey, you'll have the chance to visit ancient monasteries and network with the brave Sherpas, who have a distinguishing lifestyle and culture. Everest Base Camp, located at a height of 5,364 meters, places you at the base of the world's highest peak. The trek to Everest Base Camp takes you through grand mountains, mountain passes, luxurious forests, elegant rivers, and charming Sherpa villages and monasteries. This almost dreamlike journey will leave you with cherished memories for a lifetime
We begin with a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a walk to the small village of Phakding (2,600m). Hiking along flat ground, you will pass by chortens and prayer wheels before reaching a guesthouse near the Dudh Koshi River. From there, we journey to Namche Bazaar and spend the night. Enjoying breakfast enclosed by spectacular mountain views is one of the trek's treasured moments. A day of adjustment in Namche Bazaar will help you get prepared for the trip ahead.
You will walk to Tengboche (3,880m) and out there, experiencing the exclusive wildlife and culture of the region. If you visit Tengboche Monastery in October or November, you can see the Mani Rimdu festival, the main carnival of the Sherpas in the Khumbu region, displaying their lifestyle, culture, traditions, and rituals. From Tengboche, you'll walk to Pheriche, and come across wildlife such as musk deer, pheasants, and yaks. As you continue, the background becomes progressively enormous, with clearer sights of peaks like Ama Dablam and Lhotse. The trek then takes you to Lobuche (4,930m) and onward to Gorakshep (5,130m), concluding at the highlight of the journey – Everest Base Camp (5,364m). All great climbers and explorers have visited EBC, wondering at the splendour of the world's uppermost peaks.
A short bypass to Kala Patthar provides a striking vantage point profound in the mountains. Here, you can soak in the magnificent views of the nearby mountains and the nostalgic awareness that you will soon return to the real world. Retrace your steps back to Gorakshep, walk to Dingboche, and then head to Namche Bazaar. After a richly deserved rest in Namche, you will continue to Lukla and catch a flight back to Kathmandu.
Orbit Alpine Adventure proposes trekking to Everest Base Camp in the autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) seasons. While it is a discreetly demanding trek, no prior trekking or climbing skills are required. You simply need to be habituated to regular exercise, have average physical fitness, and have a good sum of strength.
