Paldor Peak (5,896m) lies between the Tiru and Karpu Hillocks in south-east of Ganesh Himal (7,422m) Range. First climbed by Bill Tilman’s expedition team in 1949 from North-East Ridge, it is gaining its popularity day by day. Another successful Paldor Peak climbing was made by Lan Howell and John Cleare in 1974. Between 1949 and 1974, there had been no ascent to this peak as the record shows.
The non-technical peak can be climbed from North East, South East, West and South East Ridge. It has been a popular trekking peak of Nepal as it is below 6,000m. One can climb this peak without previous climbing experience. The Sherpa guide gives you the required instructions for doing this climbing without any accident.
On the acclimatization day at at the base camp, the guide gives you a refreshment training. He will guide you to use the climbing gears like ice axes, crampons, hand line, etc. By keeping the body in good health, having enough water and food makes you physically ready. Moreover, when you are mentally alert to complete this journey, it is superb!
Paldor Peak climbing leads you through the Langtang Valley and Ganesh Himal region. During the travel, you can see the flora and fauna of the Himalayan region.
